our story

Owners Ivan Arias and Molly Drane met while living in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

There, Molly's position at a luxury travel service required her to "research" the culinary revolution in Buenos Aires at the time. Visiting many high-scale restaurants, Molly developed a passion for food, ultimately recognizing its power in creating unforgettable experiences and connections across the globe.

Born in Colombia, Ivan went to culinary school in Argentina and worked at several restaurants in the city before bringing his passion for cooking, along with his native country's cuisine, to the US.  Ivan opened Donde Thiago with Molly in 2014. 

Using South American recipes and local ingredients, the couple (with their two sons, Thiago and Matías) is dedicated to promoting cultural understanding and appreciation through good, simple food.
